VINTAGE

Vintage 2023 will be remembered for being long and slow. A very cool and wet season was a concern for growers and wineries. Fortunately for most premium South Australian regions ripening was late but, in the end, got there with great balance and freshness in the wines.

Overall low to very low crop levels for most varieties meant that despite the challenges and concerns, fruit quality was over all very good.

VINIFICATION

Crushed and destemmed, the free run juice was cold settled then cool fermented in closed stainless steel fermenters. With minimal intervention the wine was then stabilised before bottling to retain freshness and vibrant varietal flavours.

TASTING COMMENTS

Very light pale straw colour with greenish tinge; notes of freshly cut grass, citrus and lemon grass blend with tropical aromas of gooseberries and pineapple. The palate is refreshing and crisp with a lovely acid line. Flavours of grapefruit, pineapple, lemon and passionfruit linger long after the wine is swallowed.
